Why can't pottery have both a funtion but also be a beautiful piece of art?! 
As an avid mug lover, i wanted to create mugs that were a joy to use but also were mini sculptural works. 
 
For this mug i wanted to make a piece that looked like it could belong to a siren or mermaid, i wanted to make something that looked like it had been plucked from the depths of the ocean.
 
Each much is completely unique as i build a base mug then carefully sculpt onto it, this mug features pearlescent barnacles around thebase of the handle and 24kt gold coral spores dotted in various locations. 
I have also glazed this piece in a painterly style mixing serveral different glazes giving the piece a  sense of depth to represent out changing tides.
 
Mug holds around 350ml of your chosen liquid and measures 10cm tall by 14cm wide
The inside of this mug is glaze in a speckled cream glaze.
